Arsenal have officially announced the signing of Bayern Munich goalkeeper Manuela Zinsberger, whonis a replacement for departing star Saari van Veenendaal.
The arrival of the 23-year-old goalkeeper at the Emirates Stadium makes her the second player to join the club from the German giants since the 2018/19 campaign ended having secured a spot in the Champions League for 2019/20 season.
Just during the week, the Gunners were able to sign and welcome 22-year-old midfieldrr Jill Roord to the club.
Report has it that the North London club will be landing three players from Bayern Munich this summer with just a glitch in the report as target Sara Darbritz, who was linked with a move to Emirates this summer, chose to join up European rival Paris Saint-Germain instead.
Zinsberger who arrived at the Emirates for an undisclosed fee, was speaking about her delight of joining the London club.
The 23-year-old midfielder said via Arsenal official website: It’s such an amazing feeling.
“I know a lot of the players here. We have a really good team here with really good quality and impressive performances, so I’m looking forward to being part of it!”
Arsenal Women head coach Joe Montemurro also added: “We are delighted to welcome Manuela to Arsenal. She is a world-class goalkeeper, and her achievements mirror that. Her experience and ability will be a great addition to our squad.”
