As reported by BBC, Premier League club Arsenal F.C. have officially completed a deal which will see their goalkeeper Matt Macey join Plymouth Argyle on a season-long loan this summer.
Macey began his career at Bristol Rovers but the goalkeeper never played for the first team before being signed by Arsenal as a 19-year-old boy.
He made his Arsenal debut in October 2017 in the League Cup and also played in the Europa League either side of loan spells at Accrington and Luton.
Macey nailed his place as the Gunners third-choice goalkeeper under Arsene Wenger last season and since then only registered two appearances for the club senior team in which in played against Red Star Belgrade in the Europa League and Norwich in the Carabao Cup.
With the goalkeeper joining Plymouth, its more likely that Martinez will serve as Arsenal’s third-choice goalkeeper this season playing behind Petr Cech and Bernd Leno, with David Ospina widely speculated to be sold this summer.
