According to reports, Chelsea have reportedly agreed a swap deal involving Spanish forward Alvaro Morata and this could be made official when the window opens next month.
Report according to Italian publication Sport MediaSet claims AC Milan have agreed to sign the Blues striker in exchange for Gonzalo Higuain, who is on loan at the San Siro from Juventus, with the report claiming his departure is ‘inevitable’ with the deal all but ‘agreed’.
This will be a six-month deal with a view to it being made permanent in the summer, while Morata will swap Chelsea for Milan in an 19-month loan deal and Serie A champions Juventus will be cut out of the deal completely.
Higuain, 31, is rated at €50m via Transfermkt and the striker is currently on loan at AC Milan from Juventus but was due to make the move permanent this summer.
Elsewhere, Chelsea defender Gary Cahill could end his stint with Chelsea with a cross-London move to Arsenal, according to the Daily Mirror.
The former Bolton Wanderers defender has had limited game time under the west London manager Maurizio Sarri this season with the Italian gaffer preferring David Luiz and Rudiger at the back.
The 33-year-old has been linked with leaving the club – Manchester United have also been linked with a shock move – but it now seems injury ravaged Arsenal are the front runners.
