Chelsea have secured and announced their first summer signing of Napoli midfielder Jorginho from Napoli who follows hours after Maurizio Sarri was announced as the Blues new head-coach this summer.
As per reports, the Premier League club have agreed deals worth €95million to seal the signing of the 26-year-old midfielder.
The Daily Express claimed the Stamford Bridge outfits agreed a mouth-watering fee worth €65million with the Serie A side and agreed a five year contract worth €30million (€115,500-a-week) with the player.
The former Hellas Verona ace was in superb form for Napoli last season under the tutelage of Sarri. He featured in 39 games for the Napples in all competitions for Napoli and directly contributed with eight goals, netting four goals and four assists.
Jorginho is naturally a solid defensive midfielder and it must be remembered that the Blues already have in their rank the service of N’Golo Kante and Tiemoue Bakayoko. However, Chelsea’s most creative midfielder is former Arsenal star Cesc Fabregas.
Bakayoko was a total flop last season and there, we should see Jorginho should replace the Frenchman as their main play breaker in front of the back line. He was a regular starter for Napoli under Sarri so it will not come as any surprise to see him start at the Bridge with the Italian boss now in charge of the club.
