David Luiz has officially cut all ties linking him to Manchester United and Arsenal as he extends his contract with Chelsea.
The West London club officially announced in on the website claiming that the Brazilian defender has put peb to paper to sign a new contract with the club that will expire in the summer of 2021.
The 30-year-old defender so far this season has been productive for the Maurizio Sarri’s team as he helped secire a Champions League spot for next campaign having registered 48 appearances and scored 3 goals for the Blues in all competitions.
The Brazilian has been hugely prolific for Sarri throughout the season despite his fall out with former manager Antonio Conte.
The Blues defender has also helped the club to the Europa League final right after sending German club Eintracht Frankfurt packing in the semi-final through penalty, the club will be facing London rivals Arsenal in Baku for the last game.
Speaking about his new contract, Luiz said: “I am so happy to be here and to have this opportunity to stay. I love this club and I still have the ambition of a young player.
“It means a lot to reach another European final, and we still have the opportunity to finish in the top three of the Premier League this season and I will continue to try to do my best to help the team.”
