According to newly emerging reports, Maurizio Sarri is expected to jet into London to being in earnest process of taking over from Antonio Conte as Chelsea manager for the upcoming season.
It’s believed the Italian gaffer has practically agreed a deal with Napoli to terminate his standing contract by mutual consent for €5m.
Although, Sarri was fired by the Serie A club’s chief having failed to secure the Scudetto title for the Napples and was replaced by former Real Madrid and Bayern Munich boss Carlo Ancelotti last month. His contract remains in place with Napoli and can only get terminated bilaterally.
The Serie A club’s president once claimed he had never received any call from Chelsea regarding the transfer of Sarri which reports revealed later to bear fruits as the transfer had been in discussion via his intermediary Fali Ramadani.
It’s widely reported that Sarri will agree a three-year contract with Chelsea and will be earning salary worth in the region of €6m per season.
And according II Mattino, the Italian news magazine revealed Sarri has decided to live within Chelsea’s Cobham training centre located in South-West London.
Meanwhile, his compatriot, Antonio Conte, will be offered two choices once Sarri has been announced which is either for him to accept a termination by mutual content with the club or for his accept his dismissal and €9m pay-out.
It all remains to be seen how the transfer saga will be unfold at Chelsea this summer.
