Napoli boss Carlo Ancelotti is eyeing a £26m summer move for Chelsea FC defender David Luiz, according to a report in Italy.
The report is according to an Italian news outlet Il Mattino via The Sun that claims Ancelotti is eyeing a move for his former player to improve the Napoli defence.
The same reports adds that the Serie A side are looking to enter into negotiations with the Blues over Maurizio Sarri to sign Luiz to Napoli this summer.
However, it’s believed Chelsea would be willing to sell the Brazilian so they free up funds to complete a £35m deal for Italian defender Daniele Rugani.
Regular first-team football have been hard to come by for Luiz under Antonio Conte in the Premier League last season despite being a key part of his team that won him the title in 2016/17 season.
Chelsea, however, remains uncertain with who they are appointing to replace the Italian gaffer this summer and there have been speculations Sarri could be heading to Stamford Bridge this summer to replace his compatriot.
Chelsea ended fifth spot in the Premier League table last season to miss out on a spot in the Champions League for second time in three seasons.
However, they managed not to end the season trophyless as they beat Manchester United 1-0 in the FA Cup final courtesy of Eden Hazard’s winner from the penalty spot.
