Chelsea managerial issues is set to be finalised with Napoli’s former boss Maurizio Sarri set to be announced as the club’s new manager within the next hours.
Reports coming from Italy via Corriere dello Sport is claiming that the announcement of Sarri as Chelsea new manager is close after talks continued between both parties on Monday.
It’s believed as per other reports that Roman Abramovich personally phoned Aurelio De Laurentiis on Monday in an attempt to speed up the process.
The Blues had been hoping to have the manager in place prior to the club’s first training session ahead of their upcoming pre-season fixtures, but Conte still led the team.
The Italian remains in charge of club managerial, but it is believed that everything is in place for the Italian to leave and make way for Sarri.
The FA Cup holders have been working on a compensation deal for Conte and the members of his coaching staff with the current head coach having one year remaining on his contract. It has also been claimed that Sarri’s arrival will see Chelsea kick-start their summer transfer business.
