According to assertions from Bayern Munich president Uli Hoeness, Chelsea have been handed a huge blow in pursuit of one of his player as the president claims the Bundesliga champions won’t be Poland’s Robert Lewandowski to Chelsea or any suitors this window.
Lewandowski has been subject of transfer to the Premier League summer after summer with the likes of Arsenal and Manchester United once linked with the former Borussia Dortmund striker.
The £81million rated striker has won four back-to-back Bundesliga titles with the German side since his transfer to the Allianz Arena for free from Borussia Dortmund back in 2014.
Lewandowski, however, is said to have his heart set on a transfer to Real Madrid but appears even that won’t be possible this summer. The 29-year-old has the Bundesliga titles four times since he joined from arch-rivals in 2014.
There were speculations that Bayern could consider the sale of the Chelsea target in a €200million deal but their president Uli Hoeness has dismissed this report.
This report would be a huge blow for Chelsea who are in the market for an upgrade on Morata who have inconsistent in front of goal since he joined from Real Madrid last summer and are yet to announce any transfer deals this summer.
Blues manager Antonio Conte future is still up in the air with no hint of who might be the Italian replacement this summer despite claims that Chelsea are eyeing up move for Napoli former boss Maurizio Sarri as replacement but talks about this has stalled.
