Done & Dusted: – Full-back officially announce his arrival at Arsenal

Switzerland international Stephan Lichtsteiner who joined Arsenal as the club’s first signing of the summer has officially announce himself as an Arsenal player.

The veteran former Juventus right-back officially joined the North London club on a free transfer today following the expiry of his current contract with the Serie A champions.

Writing on his social media account, the defender said:

“This is officially my first day as a Gunner! I am excited and extremely proud to be part of the @Arsenal family and to wear this jersey.

“I will give my all for the team and for the Arsenal fans! Together, we will work hard every day to achieve our objectives.”

Lichtsteiner is currently still with Switzerland national team, who are playing Sweden in their last-16 tie on Tuesday evening.

This will see him unable to join the Gunners team until the Swiss’ participation in the World Cup comes to a close on or before July 15. The Gunners had announced prior to the tournament that Lichtsteiner had agreed to join them.
