While it’s been reported Arsenal’s deal for Uruguayan international and Sampdoria defensive midfielder Lucas Torreira has said to be a “done deal” with “shirt number 28” reportedly assigned for the midfielder, fans are vying to see how Unai Emery will line him with the rest of Arsenal players.
An earlier Arsenal blogs news report claim the Gunners have reached an agreement with Sampdoria to sign him for a fee of €30million, however, the Gunners have still got to agree terms with the player.
On the other hand, Sky Sports claim the North London club have offered £26.5m (€30m, $35m) in installments for the 22-year-old and the agreement is close to getting finalize. But like we said, it remains to be seen how the midfielder will fit in the Arsenal team.
Emery, while still with Ligue 1 champions Paris Saint-Germain, he used a 4-3-3 lineup and this might the be same the lineup the Spaniard will used at the Emirates.
If so, then we can expect to see Torreira line up in a three man midfield as Arsenal’s main play breaker. Although, Arsenal do have a DM in Granit Xhaka but the midfielder has mainly been used as a creative midfielder. This will then see a combination of Torreira, Xhaka and Ramsey in the center of the park.
The likes of Mesut Ozil and Henrikh Mkhitaryan should start in the attacking midfield behind lone center forward Aubameyang. The club’s first signing of the summer, Lichtsteiner should compete with Hector Bellerin for the right back position while Monreal and Kolasinac should battle for the left-back spot.
Here is how the Gunners will line up with the Uruguayan midfielder:
