Premier League giants Chelsea FC are reportedly in talks with Bayern Munich defender Mats Hummels’ agent – who is also said to be a potential target for Tottenham Hotspur – over a January transfer move.
Hummels is no longer a guaranteed starter at Bayern this season, and it would not be surprising to see him leaving the Allianz Arena for regular game time elsewhere.
The 30-year-old midfielder would be a good option for Chelsea, who need to make some serious changes at the back as an upgrade on Gary Cahill who is down the pecking order under Sarri whilst also serving as another option to David Luiz.
According to report from The Metro, the British tabloid claim the Blues are negotiating a potential move for the €30 million rated are already in talks with his agent.
Despite the Blues strong start to the new season under Sarri, their form has taken a bit of a hit lately that has seen them fall out of the running for the Premier League title.
If Chelsea are to challenge for silverware and cement a top four spot by May, they’ll surely need to spend more money this winter, and Hummels would be a decent place to start.
