According a report, Chelsea are reportedly closing in on the signing of Juventus defender Daniele Rugani, with reports claiming five-year contract will be agreed with the player.
Chelsea need to strengthen the team most especially in defence after their disappointing seasons with the likes of Gary Cahill and David Luiz last season, with Antonio Conte opting to field Andreas Christensen a prominent role.
The signing of Rugani would be a superb option for Chelsea, however, having made his way to Juventus and Italy national team as a guaranteed starter.
Rugani could be a very solid option for Chelsea, however, and a fine long-term replacement for the ageing duo of Cahill and Luiz.

According to Sport Italia, cited from Uber Chelsea, state that all that is left is for a fee to be agreed between Chelsea and Juventus and a fee in the region of £30million could be on cards.
The reports adds that an agreement with the Blues is “very close” and the player himself has already agreed on a five-year contract with Chelsea.
It’s been a hell of a summer so far for Chelsea, but the signing of Rugani would be a very promising first signing for Chelsea if it does end up going through.
