Chelsea reportedly look set to miss out on the transfer of Zenit Saint-Petersburg midfielder midfielder Leandro Paredes as the player is reportedly in advanced talks with Paris Saint-Germain over a move.
The Argentine midfielder has been linked with a move to Chelsea as one of possible transfer to the Stamford Bridge this winter as a replacement to recently departed Cesc Fabregas.
However, an official report from Paris United claim the player has held advanced negotiations over a transfer to PSG worth roughly £39million in total to join PSG instead.
This news could be a big blow for Chelsea, who seem in need of more options in midfielder after a poor run so far from Jorginho and Mateo Kovacic. Kovacic is with Chelsea on a loan move and could be on his way out of the club at the end of the season which will the raise the need for a replacement.
Paredes seems like he could have been a good fit, and it’s not too surprising to see another leading European club now look set to snap him up instead.
We believe the Blues might consider the signing of Barcelona’s Denis Suarez as a move to Arsenal now seems less likely.
