€80m Release Clause: 44-goals winger set to complete Chelsea transfer as 1st summer deal

According to report coming from Spanish outlet Mundo Deportivo, Chelsea are reportedly demanding a hefty €80m (£70.8m) for the transfer of Brazilian ace Willian this summer.

Chelsea have failed to sign any player this summer, and have had a £50m offer from Barcelona rejected for the winger ahead of the 2018/19 season.

Willian, has notched 61 international appearances for Brazil. He netted 13 goals and provided 12 assist in 55 appearances across all competition last season for Chelsea.

Willian, who has been part of Brazil’s team in all of their fixtures at the 2018 FIFA World Cup finals this summer in Russia, assisted Neymar’s opening goal against Mexico in their last 16 victory (2-0) on Monday afternoon.

IN 236 overall appearances for Chelsea, the Brazilian winger has netted 44 goals since he joined the Blues from Russia side Anzhi Makhachkala back in August 2013 for a reported £30m, winning two Premier League titles, the FA Cup and the League Cup with the London outfit.

The report claims Chelsea have placed a €80m price tag on the Samba star this summer, amid interest from the likes of Barcelona and Manchester United, with the Red Devils boss Jose Mourinho believed to be keen on a reunion with his former player at Old Trafford.

Willian’s current contract with Chelsea currently runs until June 2020.
