Celtic are looking to complete their domestic double after winning their seventh consecutive Scottish Premiership title earlier in the season. Brendan Rodgers’ Celtic team lost just four games across all season as they cruised another SPL trophy. The hoops will also make it two Scottish Cup trophies in a row if they defeat the Steelmen.
Despite the Hoops’ domestic success, the Glasgow champions struggled in Europe, being knocked out of both the Champions League and Europa League. To be competitive on the European stages, Celtic need a marquee signing now the transfer window is officially in its full-wings.
Rodgers should make an audacious move to lure West Ham United striker Javier ‘Chicharito’ Hernandez to Scotland. The ex-Manchester United striker joined the Hammers from Bayer Leverkusen last summer and he netted eight Premier League goals during a season where he was deemed surplus to requirement. In the Bundesliga, ‘Chicharito’ was lethal – hitting double figures for goals in both season with the Bundesliga side.
If the Mexican international work under Rodgers in the SPL, he could easily net 30 goals. If Rodgers can secure his signing to join his team, Celtic would be unstoppable and would be unstoppable.
