Manchester United have been dealt a serious transfer blow, with The Sun reporting Premier League rival Arsenal FC have offered a contract to Lazio midfielder Sergej Milinkovic-Savic. The report is according to an Italian journalist Giulio Cardone who revealed Arsenal’s interest in the 23-year-old and now revealed they’s won the race on the signing of the midfielder this summer.
Although, it’s being said according to the journalist that the Gunners are not the only club bidding for the player, with reports also linking the likes of Paris Saint-Germain and Real Madrid with strong interest with the player.
“Currently the teams that are really on the player are Manchester United and PSG. Then there are two others who have shown interest: Arsenal and Real Madrid who have offered more to the player, but do not approach the figures offered by the others to Lazio.”
Jose Mourinho’s side are shopping the market for a stellar central midfielder this summer as they’ve loast Michael Carrick to retirement while Marouane Fellaini could be on his way out of Old Trafford in the coming weeks as he’s failed to agree to a contract extension with the club.
However, the club has responsed speedily to this by signing Fred from Shaktar Donetsk, but the Old Trafford club are looking for another player in the engine room and were very close to signing Milinkovic-Savic earlier this summer.
Arsenal, on the other hand, are also in need of a midfielder, with the future of both Jack Wilshere and Aaron Ramsey remains uncertain, but it’s unknown how much they’d be willing to pay for the signing of the Serbian international.
