French giants Marseille could be offered Valere Germain to Celtic in a potential player-plus-cash bid to sign Moussa Dembele, according to France Football.
France Football reports that Celtic are eyeing around £18.1million in order to part ways with Dembele, but may have to cash in on some of their existing players like 5ft 9 (transfermarkt) forward Germain and Clinton N’Jie if they are able to afford the Hoops ace.
It is believed that the Ligue 1 giants have considered several strategies as they are looking to sign Dembele before Friday’s transfer deadline in France.
Germain is not a bad player either and would likely do well in Scotland, but he is not to be seen in Dembele shoes but Celtic should only really consider moving in for him if Marseille are willing to offer a lot of cash for Dembele. Germain has netted 19 goals in 58 appearances in all competitions for Marseille since he joined the club last summer.
The forward has a lot of football experience and helped his side reach the Europa League final, but his performance in front of goal is not really amazing.
Brendan Rodgers is not going to accept anything for Dembele unless it is a substantial amount of cash that will allow him to go out and sign a young forward who can hit the ground running in Scotland. That is not going to be easy to do, so the likelihood of the Hoops cashing in on the Frenchman is very low.
