Liverpool begun their Premier League season in a brilliant fashion this season, winning 15 and drawing three of their last 18 Premier League fixtures.
Jurgen Klopp’s men are currently the only unbeaten team in the league so far and they sit comfortably at the top of the Premier League table, four points clear of second placed and previous league winners Manchester City, but that shouldn’t mean that Klopp will not be looking at adding depth to his team next season.
One particular area of focus for the German tactician will be in his centre-forward department, with more competition for Roberto Firmino required, especially considering the Brazilian’s under-par performances so far this term.
That said, Liverpool should consider a move for Torino hitman Andrea Belotti when the window re-opens in January. Belotti is widely considered to be one of the most dangerous striker in the market, and plying his trade in team of Liverpool would further impact his game and certainly add a totally different dimension to the Reds’ attacking play.
The striker also has a brilliant goalscoring record for Torino, having netted 61 goals in 127 appearances in all competitions for the Serie A giants.
Whilst Firmino is a deep-lying centre-forward, the Italian always plays off the shoulder of the last defender, and his ability to run in behind the opposition’s defence would provide Klopp with a totally different option up front.
However, manay Liverpool fans might suggest that the need for a centre-back is far greater than a striker, but they should take note that Belotti’s quality is such a good one that he might just make the Reds team an unstoppable one.
Liverpool won’t find the signing of Belotti cheap with Italian news outlet Calcio Mercato claiming that Torino will not sell their star player for anything less than €100 million (£90 million).
If the Reds can find a way of coming up with that sort of cash, though, they should not hesitate to bring the Italian to Anfield next month.
