Arsenal are in race with Chelsea to sign Real Madrid playmaker Isco, who is also a target for Premier League powerhouse Manchester City.
It’s added that Chelsea are looking to hijack Arsenal’s and Man City’s move to the signing of Isco and are lining up swift deal ahead of the January transfer window.
Also, the Sun added that Chelsea are ready to offer around £70m to sign Isco while packaging a weekly fee of around £250,000 a week for the playmaker who is currently getting some digs from his own fans.
It’s believed the playmaker is deemed surplus to requirements at Santiago Bernabeu and he’s definitely going to jump at the chances of playing for another top club in likes of Arsenal, Chelsea and Manchester City.
Unai Emery is still looking for a reliable playmaker; Aaron Ramsey looks set to leave at the end of the season, Henrikh Mkhitaryan is yet to fully convince and then there is Mesut Ozil.
The German has been out of the side in recent weeks and does not offer the relentless pressing Emery demands from all his forwards.
Isco is a more mobile, athletic type of number 10, but making such a huge outlay on bringing him to north London would surely be the final nail in the coffin of Ozil’s Arsenal career.
Money and a space in the squad for Isco would need to be freed up and letting Ozil go would be the most obvious solution to that issue.
