It’s funny and surprising how Chelsea are silently becoming title contenders with many even only crediting Manchester City and Liverpool as the only side for the title this season.
In Maurizio Sarri’s first season-in-charge of the team, the Blues still remains unbeaten in all competitions and are sitting third in the Premier League table with just four points adrift league leaders Manchester City.
However, the west London brilliant start to the new season also shows two areas of weakness they would need to strengthen.
Without any doubt, everyone knows how flakey David Luis and Marcos Alonso have been so far this season which would call for a replacement soon while another area they would to upgrade would the right-sided winger in the team.
Chelsea were linked with the signing of Frenchman in the summer after his move to Liverpool did not materialize and the report has been on since then.
But rumours have started to circulate that Sarri has personally called Fekir in the hopes of convincing him to join Chelsea.
And the World Cup winner could be the missing link to their attacking cohort to link the team.
It may cost Chelsea upwards of £50m to recruit Fekir – which is something Roman Abramovich may be hesitant to do.
