Two former Celtic players Virgil Van Dijk and Victor Wanyama made the headlines alongside Harry Kane and Mohamed Salah as Liverpool and Tottenham Hotspur shared four goals and an incredible finale to the match at Anfield.
The Reds, leading 1-0 thanks to an early goals scored by Mo Salah, were trying to see the game out when Wanyama fired an electrifying 25 yard shot into the net just a minute after coming on as a substitute.
Seven minutes later Kane saw his penalty denied by Liverpool goalkeeper using that boost to go in front through a brilliant striker from Salah.
The scintillating match wasn’t finished with Tottenham awared a second penalty ending into stoppage time when van Dijk barged into the back of Erik Lamela with Kane making no mistake with his second penalty of the day to score his 100th goal in the Premier League.
Wanyama and van Dijk both made their way from Celtic to Southampton for fees in the region of £12m with their hoops careers overlapping by a month in 2013 before the van Djik made his way to St Mary’s. At least it’s well said Celtic have made some stars. Check out fans reaction below:
That Wanyama goal in itself is enough to be worthy of getting a result from any game. Buried that ball like a bastard. At the Kop end as well. Won’t see a better strike of a ball all season.

WHAT. A. GOAL. Substitute Wanyama, who has just come on, absolutely whacks the living shit out of the ball from 20 yards out and puts it top bins.
