According to reports, Chelsea are just hours to announcing Jorginho as their first summer signing of the transfer window having agreed his £57m move to Chelsea.
The Blues have agreed a deal with Napoli for Jorginho which includes an initial £50m fee with £7m in bonuses and he’s set to earn around €117,166.90 per week as a Chelsea player next season.
It’s believed Premier League champions Manchester City also in race to sign the midfielder who eventually chosed to play for Chelsea and not City.
But Napoli’s president Aurelio De Laurentiis on Wednesday revealed Jorginho was ready to snub City after lengthy negotiations because he “prefers London”.
The Napples president said Jorginho’s transfer to Chelsea did not depend on whether or not Maurizio Sarri had agreed terms on replacing Antonio Conte at Chelsea, despite tons of reports confirming the deal was close to completion.
Conte’s sacking was eventually confirmed on Friday morning, and Sky Sports News understands Sarri could be appointed at Stamford Bridge in the next few days.
Jorginho will be the Blues first signing of the summer and they have until August 9 to complete every of their summer deals and we are expecting more players to following the Italian to Stamford Bridge this coming week.
