According to reports, Celtic will be keeping a close eye on the World Cup for some potential transfer targets.
In this article, we are taking a look at four players we believe the Scottish champions would be keeping an eye on at the World Cup in Russia, as they could be great additions to Brendan Rodgers’ team.
Massimo Luongo – Australia:
Massimo Luongo will join Celtic’s Tom Rogic at international level in Russia, and the Queens Park Rangers player could be a good signing for the Glasgow champions in the summer.
Luongo’s a superb passer, and would fit in well with Rodgers’ style of player, and with his future at Loftus Road not certain yet, he could be joining Celtic this summer.
Sardar Azmoun – Iran:
The Iranian has already been linked with a move to Celtic once, and Azmoun boast of an impressive record at international level which would draw the Bhoys attention this summer.
The Rubin Kazan striker has scored 23 goals in 31 appearances for his country, and Rodgers will almost certainly be interested in sending scouts to keen an eye on his performances with Iran during the World Cup.
Joel Campbell – Costa Rica:
Campbell is another player that have another Celtic player in his national squad in the form of Cristian Gamboa. The former Arsenal player could make an excellent addition to Rodgers’ team.
Campbell is a strong striker, who has find the back of net in a number of different leagues across Europe, and could increase Celtic’s scoring threat in Scotland.
Matz Sels – Belgium
Sels, who is likely to get sold by Newcastle United this summer, could prove to be an upgrade on Celtic’s current goalkeeping options, if his form with Belgium is anything to go by.
Although, Celtic’s move for Sels doesn’t really appears to happen as he won’t be guarantee much playing as the Red Devils currently boast of Chelsea’s Thibaut Courtois as their No. 1 between the sticks.
