As per the Daily Express, Scottish champions Celtic FC could be set to lose striker Moussa Dembele before the end of the summer transfer window.
Dembele is yet to register any appearances for Celtic in the Scottish Premiership this season but the Frenchman’s been performing brilliantly across Europe, scoring two goals as Celtic beat Alashkert in a Champions League qualifying round earlier this summer.
Celtic are said to demand around £20m for the striker, who has earlier been linked with moves to Manchester United, Bayern Munich and Brighton and Hove Albion in recent months. Although French outlet La Provence claimed Marseille may be on the verge of testing the Hoops’ resolve over Dembele.
The Ligue 1 side are prepared to part with close to £17m to land Dembele, which could be enough to tempt the Hoops into selling before next week’s transfer deadline.
The Hoops boss Brendan Rodgers wants new faces at Celtic after a poor start to the season from his players and if reports bear fruit, Celtic could sell Dedryck Boyata to fund fee for any new arrivals.
The ex-Fulham ace scored 17 league goals during his first season and he followed that up with nine goals last season for Celtic.
Marseille, however, would move for Dembele if there move for Chelsea’s Olivier Giroud failed in the coming days.
