Chelsea appear to be winning the race to sign CSKA Moscow and Russia star Alexsandr Golovin this summer ahead of top European clubs interested in his signature this summer.
The likes of Barcelona, Juventus and Arsenal have all been linked with the midfielder over the past few weeks, but reports coming from Mundo Deportivo has revealed the Blues are leading the race the sign him the summer.
The Premier League owner Roman Abramovic is said to have be showing strong interest in the Russian international and wants to use his friendship with CSKA president Yevgeny Giner to seal a deal for the playmaker.
According to report, a fee of £20 million has been agreed wit CSKA over the signing of Golovin and personal terms are unlikely to be an issue for the signing of the 22-year-old while a medical could be held in Russia this week should the host qualify for the next round in the World Cup.
Golowin has spent his entire senior career with the Russian club, netting 13 goals in 113 appearances for club in all competitions.
Golovin registered his debut for the Russia national team in a friendly match against Belarus back in the summer of June 2015, when he came in as a half-time sub and scored Russia’s second goal in a 4-2 victory.
The midfielder is current with the Russian team at the World Cup and he played a starring role in their opening games of the tournament, netting one goal and creating two assists as Russia mauled Saudi Arabia 5-0.
