Arsenal are prepared to pay a whooping £57m release clause to sign Napoli midfielder Piotr Zielinski, according to reports from Italian news outlet Corriere dello Mezzogiorno.
Despite the Gunners are yet to appoint a man as their manager, the club’s transfer plans in well in-placed.
A report according to the Italian outlet claims they’re big admirers of the midfielder and are willing to activate a £57m release clause in the midfielder’s current deal with Napoli.
Zielinski, 20, has been an impressive asset for the Italian giants, and his presence at the Emirates will bring new life to their current midfield. The midfielder has registered 43 appearances across all competition which includes 12 starts in Serie A.
There’s always a risk when signing an inexperienced man to the Premier League to play in a deep midfield role. However, in the case of the Napoli midfielder, he’s vast experience playing in a competitive league and has proven he can cope with the pressure of playing for a bigger club.
He’s predominantly utilize in the centre of the park, but the Poland international can also play on either the left or right side of attack.
Santi Cazorla has been missed severally during his career ending injury, and even though fans are delighted to have him back on field, the Spaniard’s long-term future remains uncertain now Arsene Wenger is leave at the end of the season.
Zielinski has the attributes to come in and take over his place in the current Arsenal squad, but a lot will depend on what the view and thought of the new manager will be.
