Maurizio Sarri’s Chelsea team will look to build on their impressive run to the season when they welcome Arsenal to Stamford Bridge on Saturday evening.
The Blues showed glimpses of strong and impressive performances under the new Italian tactician against Huddersfield Town last weekend by cruising the Hammers to a 3-0 defeat.
Below is our the Gunners could line up against the FA Cup holders this weekend:
Kepa Arrizabalaga showed a solid debut last week between the sticks following his world record move from Athletic Bilbao so he’s certain to keep his place ahead of former Manchester City goalie Willy Caballero against Arsenal this weekend.
Chelsea faced relatively undisturbed threat at the back during their 3-0 victory at Huddersfield last weekend so there doesn’t seem to be need for Sarri to make any changes to his back four of Cesar Azpilicueta, David Luiz, Antonio Rudiger and Marcos Alonso.
New signing Mateo Kovacic missed the Blues win at Huddersfield and the former Real man he’s unlikely to be risked from the start against Arsenal as he’s still working his way back to full fitness and finding his feet in England following his deadline day move from Real Madrid.
Jorginho, as expected, showed an impressive debut last weekend so he will be looking to build on this performance alongside N’Golo Kante in midfield when they take on Arsenal.
Ross Barkley showed a remarkable performance against Huddersfield last weekend but Sarri would rather much give Ruben Loftus-Cheek a start against Arsenal with Cesc Fabregas not fully on his best yet.
Eden Hazard only made a cameo appearances off the bench last weekend but the Real Madrid target is almost certain to featured against Arsenal on Saturday playing on the left wing side.
There’s a suggestion Sarri could chose to start Olivier Giroud to lead the attack against his former team in place of the miss-firing Alvaro Morata while Willian should also earn his place at the right wing.
Here is how we think Chelsea will line-up:
