The 21-year-old who scored three goals across 37 appearances for Roma during the 2017/18 season has been an hot prospect this summer.
The midfielder only returned to Roma last summer following a loan spell with Italian side Sassuolo, but it is believed that the player has a £26m release clause inserted into his current deal with the Yellow Reds.
According to Sky Sports News, new Arsenal manager Unai Emery is believed to be very keen on working with the player having already tried signing him to Paris Saint-Germain last summer but a move failed to materialise.
