According to reports, Chelsea are planning to sign James Rodriguez as replacement to Eden Hazard should he finally join Real Madrid after the World Cup finals this summer.
Reports coming from Spanish outlet is claiming the Los Blancos are ready to sanction as high as £87m (€100m) for the signing of the Belgian international.
Chelsea FC owner Roman Abramovich is said to be be keen on investing lot of the money that will be paid by the Champions League winner into signing the Colombian international this summer.
However, James is currently on a two-year loan deal at Bayern Munich with the Bundesliga champions having the options to sign him permanently at the end of this two-year stint in Germany.
Chelsea are believed to be keen on raiding Bayern’s to the signing of James this summer soo he can fill the void left by Hazard at Stamford Bridger.
James Rodriguez has undoubtedly been in good form so far this season. In the just concluded season, he netted five goals and created nine assists for Bayern in just 18 Bundesliga appearances.
And the Blues feel he is the perfect man to replace Hazard if he does make the move to Real Madrid this summer. Hazard netted 15 goals and provided 11 assists across all competition last season despite playing out of his role under Antonio Conte for Chelsea.
