Chelsea’s skipper Eden Hazard has been backed to stay with FA Cup holders despite long-term interested from Real Madrid and Barcelona.
Hazard was highly touted to leave the Blues last summer having been a target for both side and even Real former boss Zinedine Zidane reportedly have the Belgian on his wishlist.
If reports are anything to go by, it’s claimed that Real not been able to sign Hazard was part of Zidane’s reasons for leaving the club.
But as long as the Belgian is happy, his brother Thorgan Hazard, who plays at Borussia Monchengladbach believes he’s better off staying at Stamford Bridge.
He told Belgian newspaper HLN, that:
“Eden made the right decision by staying.
“Chelsea didn’t plan to sell him last summer and now he has had a good start to the season with Maurizio Sarri.
“Real Madrid are going through a complicated moment. They sacked the coach, key players left and now they have to rebuild the team. Eden won’t make the wrong move.
“He’ll wait to see what happens at the end of the season.”
During the summer, Hazard’s brilliant and eye-catching form helped his nation to progress to the semi-finals of the World Cup held in Russia. And while he has stated that he’s been “torn” about his next move, the managerial uncertainty situation at Real Madrid makes staying in the Premier League a likely option for him.
Thorgan Hazard added:
“I know him and he’s not thinking about making this move now.
“He’ll give everything for Chelsea and doesn’t want to clash with the club. If he does go one day then he’ll do it in the correct way, without problems for the club.”
