Maurizio Sarri has had a difficult start to his time at Chelsea as he fends off those trying to tie apart his squad but reports this morning are suggesting Chelsea’s chief might have a replacement for one possible departure this summer.
As reported by the Sunday Times, the outlet claim today that Chelsea are “working on a deal” to bring France international Anthony Martial to Stamford Bridge this summer from Manchester United.
The newspaper adds that the Blues are bound to face competition from Bundesliga champions Bayern Munich who are also working on signing the Frenchman this summer, but that both teams are reluctant to stretch to United’s beefy £90m valuation of the 22-year-old.

Although, it seems Martial’s valuation are likely to complicates the matter for both interested parties. It’s claimed Man United has as upper hand in executing his contract which would extend it to 2020 a subsequently increase his market value.
Martial became the most expensive teenager in football history when he joined the Old Trafford club in a £50m move, but has seen his opportunities limited under current United boss Jose Mourinho since his acquisition of Alexis Sanchez in January from Arsenal.
He is seen by the Chelsea board as a potential replacement for Eden Hazard, with the Belgian forward a long-standing target for La Liga giants Real Madrid.
A likelihood of Martial making a switch of this summer has looked high for some time, with his agent making it clear that he was keen to move on in June.
“After thinking about all the possibilities and settings, Anthony wants to leave Manchester United.”
