The central midfielder has Russia’s heartbeat in the World Cup so far, with impressive performances helping the host national to the Round of 16 with one goal and two assists in Russia’s first two matches, both wins over Saudi Arabia and Egypt.
However, the €30m-rated midfielder was rested for Russia’s final group stage match against Uruguay, but is more than likely to return to the team when the host national take on Spain in the round of 16.
