Celtic fans have been reacting bitterly on Twitter after watching Mikael Lustig’s performance during their goalless draw with Dundee, and it appears that the majority of the fans were not pleased by his performance.
It was a brilliant night for Celtic despite the fact that Brendan Rodgers’ side extended their lead at the top of the Scottish Premiership by avoiding a defeat against Neil McCann’s side.
Celtic were unable to score at home for the second time this year and their performance was not impressive considering that they could quite easily secure a second consecutive domestic treble this season.
The 31-year-old – who earns £24,000-a-week, according to the Daily Star – was previously a stalwart of the side but has looked well short of his best this term, and the fans have not been afraid to ask for the likes of Cristian Gamboa and Anthony Ralston – who now finds himself out on loan – to get a chance ahead of Lustig.
Several supporters slammed the fact that the right-back seemed incapable of playing a forward pass during the contest, with many feeling that he was playing by the rules of rugby and making sure that the ball went backwards.
It was another disappointing night for the defender. Here is what the fans made of his performance….
Does Lustig know how to make a forward pass?

Someone should tell Lustig hes aloud to pass the ball forward its no rugby.

Scott Sinclair, dreadful again. Our best performances have come with him on the bench.
Mikael Lustig should take up rugby cos ye canny pass the ball forward in that either.

Wouldn’t argue if we moved on Lustig, jozo, Boyata, DdV, Armstrong, Rogic, Sinclair and Dembele. Needs massively freshened up.

Boyata ain’t the biggest concern in defence…. Lustig only goes sideways, isn’t convincing in a tackle OR winning a bouncing ball, runs into the space Forrest was occupying all night etc….
PS I’m not a Boyata fan btw

Just feel Lustig and Boyata have had too many chances now… understand giving Ajer a rest but this is the run in now, best team should be playing every game. 3 subs at once with none of them being the right change was just weird.

I felt we were poor 2nite also Matt, got the feeling early on it was going to be one of those nights. No one took any responsibility, always looking for that extra pass. Lustig & Boyata seeing out their time imho 🍀🍀🏴🏴
