Chelsea in-form midfielder Ruben Loftus-Cheek might just be missing the trip to Baku for the Europa League final having succumbed to an injury while playing in the club’s charity friendly in the USA on Wednesday.
The England International was spotted in the match holding his left ankle during the first half of their 3-0 victory against New England Revolution at the Gillette Stadium, and has been yet to be assesed by the Chelsea medicals.
Fellow compatriot Ross Barkley helped Chelsea seal the match as he found the back of the net twice and striker Olivier Giroud delivered an header in their comfortable victory in Foxborough.
Their charity friendly against the England Revolution has helped raise £3.1 million for organisations to fight against hate crimes.
With that said, Loftus-Cheek has been impressive for the Blues side this season also scoring in the semi-final against Eintracht Frankfurt to help the club to the Europa League final. The England international has been able to bag 10 goals and two assists in all competitions for the club.
The 23-year-old ankle injury could mean he will be missing the Europa League final against direct rival Arsenal in Baku to be held this month on the 29th.\
World Cup winner, N’Golo Kante availability for the match is yet to be known having been on the sidelines for a while now.
