Chelsea have been handed a huge transfer boost with Willian confirming his stay with the club amidst strong speculations linking him with Manchester United.
A number of clubs including Real Madrid and Barcelona are said to be interested in the Brazilian forward, with a reunion with former boss Jose Mourinho frequently mentioned but has now insisted that he is happy at Chelsea despite all these talks.
The 29-year-old has told Globo Esporte:
“[Leaving?] No, I’m back to England. I’m very happy at Chelsea.
“I’m very happy living in London.”
The La Liga giants were believed set to lock horns and shows who has the power to sign the winger, who played in all five of Brazil’s games at this summer’s World Cup, but would be left devastated with the latest situation.
The winger becomes Chelsea’s second player to commit his future to the club, after his compatriot David Luiz refuted reports linking him out of Chelsea.
Recent reports suggested that Chelsea were set to accept an offer from United for former Shakhtar Donetsk man the £120,000-a-wk ace, but it appears his heart is in London.
We are still unsure who will following Jorginho and Rob Green to Chelsea this summer or whether the signing of the midfielder and the former Huddersfield Town goalkeeper will be the Blues’ two major signing of the summer.
