Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp is reportedly keen on the prospect of signing AC Milan’s Suso this summer transfer window. The Spaniard was once a star at the Anfield between 2012 and 2015 before deciding to ply his trade in Serie A with AC Milan.
Now according to Calciomercato, the German boss is believed to a long-term admirer and Klopp could fancy an agreement to re-sign the Spaniard this summer. However, the report from the Italian news outlet says Milan are in no desperation to offload him and any interested clubs will have to trigger the £35m release clause on his existing contract.
The 24-year-old could not make much impact during his time at Liverpool and much of this was associated with Raheem Sterling development during the same period. Since then, the Merseyside have progressed on the right flank with Senegalese Sadio Mane whilst having Mohamed Salah to rely upon for the same.
As such, returning to Liverpool could hinder his development for next season and he may want to join a club that will guarantee regular playing time.
He has been one of the Milan’s regulars over the past 24 months and Suso has managed to maintain a regular spot in the starting spot despite AC’s record spending spree last summer.
This season, Suso has netted six goals and created 10 assists in the Serie A and his efforts see the Rossoneri within the cusp of Europa League qualification. The San Siro outfit are currently just one point ahead of seventh-placed Atalanta after gameweek 37 and they need to pick up three points against Fiorentina or hope Atalanta slip up to guarantee themselves of a Europa League spot.
