London rivals Tottenham Hotspur and Arsenal are both set battle this summer as France media outlet Mercato365 reported that the duo send scouts to watch Moussa Dembele play in Lyon’s 3-2 win against Bordeaux last weekend.
The French forward, who joined the Ligue 1 outfit last summer in a deal reported to be worth £19.7million, might just be on his way out having proved himself in Scottish Premiership and now the Ligue 1.
The 22-year-old forward, who can also be deployed as a winger, was able to find the back of the net 51 times and further creating 18 assits in 94 appearances during his time with the Scottish giant Celtic under Brendan Rodgers.
Having moved from Celtic last summer, the France U21 international adapted fast to life in France as he continued putting up impressive performance for Lyon this season and has so far bagged 18 goals and created six assists in 42 League and Cup apperances.
With the report from France stating that the Gunners and Spurs scouts were present as Dembele placed a volley into the top corner to snatch the winner in a 3-2 victoy against Bordeaux.
Following several injuries to Harry Kane this season Spurs boss Mauricio Pochettino is in the market looking for a potential back-up and he is currently looking at Dembele as the right player. Arsenal boss Emery, on the other hand, wants to tests out the possibility of having a dangerous attacking trio next season as he could very well fit Dembele into the wing position with his two prolific strikers Alexandre Lacazette and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.
