Arsenal target Thorgan Hazard have officially signed for Bundesliga giants Borussia Dortmund from rivals Borussia Monchengladbach.
The Belgian winger, who has been targeted by Premier League giants Arsenal Liverpool, has finally put pen to paper a five year contract with the German outfit putting an end to his five-year spell with Gladbach.
Right after the signing of Nico Schulz from Hoffenheim on during the week, the Bundesliga giants announces Hazard as their second summer signing.
The fee involved in the transfer deal of the Belgiun International is yet to be disclosed but several reports claim that it will be in the region of £22 million to £35 million.
The Begian winger dropped a transfer blow to Liverpool and Arsenal during the 2018/19 campaign as he confirmed that he had already agreed personal terms with Dortmund, but a transfer fee for him was not agreed on till the end of the season.
The 26-year-old attacker has impressively left a mark with Monchengladbach as he had registered 182 appearances netting 46 goals and further creating 44 assist in all competitions for the club.
Speaking to the Dortmund’s official website, Hazard said: “I am grateful for five great years at Borussia Mönchengladbach and very nice memories.
“This was the perfect time to take the next step in my career. I am proud to play for Borussia Dortmund – a top club with incredible fans.”
Arsenal will now have to look elsewhere as their long term summer signing has been signed by an European rival.
Manager Unai Emery, who was reported to be keen on signing Hazard by Metro, is still in the market for a replacement for departing Aaron Ramsey.
