In the bid to return to their glory days, Manchester United are looking to strengthen up their team in the coming transfer window with Sporting CP attacker Bruno Fernandes emerging as a potential target to help the team.
Playing as an attacking midfielder right at the back of the centre striker as a no.10, Fernandes has been prolific for the club this season as they currently sit on the third position in the Portuguese Primeira Liga.
Under the reign of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, Juan Mata, Jesse Lingard and Paul Pogba have all been used in the No.10 role this campaign, but none has really lived up to their expectations in the position.
Mata, who is aging real quick, could be sold in the summer to make way for Fernandes. The Red Devils have a lot of problems to deal with in the team, Solskjaer reported to be planning a squad overhaul ahead of the summer transfer window and will be bringing in several players to the club.
The Reds manager has a lot of ideas on how to strengthen up his under-performing team this summer and bringing in Fernandes to the club has been reported to be one of them with the club currently lacking a centre attacking midfielder.
This season so far gone has seen the 24-year-old attacker strike home 18 goals and further creating 16 assists for his Portuguese club in all competitions and could just be on his way out of club this summer.
Sporting CP has been reported to have placed a release clause worth €100 million in Fernandes contract, but will be willing to listen to offers starting in the range of €70 million and upward to tempt them to sell.
League rival Manchester City has been reported to be planning a double swoop for Manchester United targets Joao Felix of Benfica and Bruno Fernandes of Sporting CP. With the club meeting up with Felix parents over a possible transfer deal.
