Paris Saint-Germain may be at risk of losing Christopher Nkunku with the Ligue 1 champions reportedly a target for in-form Jurgen Klopp’s team.
The Merseyside have been keeping a close-watch on the PSG youngster for around three years now.
French outlet L’Equipe reported back in October 2015 that the Reds had sent scouts out to watch the player in action for PSG against Real Madrid in the UEFA Youth League and he did not disappoint, scoring twice from the centre of midfield.
And, two and a half years later, a lot has changed for the player. Establishing himself as a first-teamer under former boss Unai Emery with 20 league appearances (start) and starring for the Parc des Princes on old occasions.
However, one thing that still remains the same is the Premier League giants reported interest in the player. Italian outlet Calciomercato reported that the Reds, along with Fiorentina, are very keen on the possibility of signing the versatile attacker having also sent out scout to watch him last summer.
And, speaking to above-mentioned French outlet, the £18 million-rated attacker made it clear that he has greater ambitions than playing as a back-up option for PSG.
It’s clear why the Reds were so keen on his transfer as this comments are sure to increase speculation about a potential summer exit.
Links with Sunderland looks not possible at the moment, considering the player has made his name known as one of PSG’s brightest young players while Sunderland have been relegated to League One.
