Liverpool are reportedly prepared to enter negotiations with Lyon regarding the possible sale of France international Nabil Fekir this summer. Fekir had a superb season with Les Gones last season, contributing in fewer than 18 goals and creating a further seven assists in Ligue 1.
According to French news outlet L’Equipe, the Reds are said to be prepared to start discussions with the Ligue 1 giants but it’s believed that the club are reluctant in selling their star man.
According to the report, it’s claimed that the French club will not accept less than £53m for the attacker and Jurgen Klopp’s team should trigger their valuation in order to hold any contact with the player.
Liverpool, despite ending the season 25-point adrift league winners Manchester City, showed they’re superior to Pep Guardiola’s men after beating the Spaniard team in three of their four encounters across all competitions.
Fekir, however, has found most of his success playing in a central attacking role with Lyon but the he is also capable of playing in a wider position or in a central midfield role where he shined in a 2-1 league triumph over Paris Saint-Germain last season.
The Merseyside ended their 2017/18 season with a huge disappointment as they could not beat three-time champions Real Madrid to the Champions League title but nevertheless, they boast of a squad with strong intense that would only get better next season.
The attacking combination of Sadio Mane, Roberto Firmino and Mohamed Salah has proved to be a world-class and must seen in the upcoming season and Klopp now needs to find a balance in the midfield and defensive departments to enhance the club’s chances of competing for the English crown.
