Liverpool and Manchester United are set to lock horns over the signing of Swiss international and Stoke City midfielder Xherdan Shaqiri this summer transfer window.
The Sun reports recently that even Manchester United’s Jose Mourinho wants to sign the ex-Bayern Munich ace as possible replacement to departing Anthony Martial.
However, new emerging report claims Jurgen Klopp’s side are leading the race to secure the signing of the 26-year-old Swiss attacker.
The report is also confirmed by Mirror Sport that Liverpool are favourites to sign to Shaqiri this summer. Although it’s believed Stoke are valuing their attacker at 13 million pounds (£13million) after they got relegated from the Premier League last season.
The British outlets claims the two Manchester giants are interested in Shaqiri but Liverpool looks to be leading the race in signing him this summer.
The Alpine Messi “the magic dwarf”, who plays as a right winger was Stoke’s best player last season. He registered 36 Premier League appearances and directly contributed in 15 goals.
Shaqiri, who earns €74,000-a-week with Stoke, is a versatile talent, who can be deployed both on the right and left wing and has what it takes to improve the quality of the Reds, Red Devils and City’s attack.
Could Xherdan Shaqiri end up joining Manchester United or Manchester City or Liverpool if the report bears fruit at all? Let us know your thoughts below.
