It appears Premier League giants Arsenal FC will have to do battle three of their league rivals in the race to sign Freiburg defender Caglar Soyuncu this summer.
Soyuncu has already confirmed talks with the North London club and that he will hold talks over his future after his country – Turkey – upcoming friendly fixtures.
The Turkish-Football quoted the player as saying:
“One of the biggest clubs in England, Arsenal are interested but it is not a done deal yet.
“I am going to play the international games first and then we will make a decision, I will hold further talks afterwards.”
The outlet also added that the midfielder is keen on a move to England but that would be to a club that would guarantee him of a regular fixture.
However, it has now been revealed the Gunners are only the only Premier League team keen on his signing, with report crediting Liverpool, Manchester City and Chelsea with strong interest on the Turkish who’s rated at £35m.
Both the Manchester giants and Liverpool would guarantee the player of a Champions League football this upcoming season, something that could be another key concern over who he joins for next season.
However, despite the Premier League clubs keen interest in the player, Freiburg appears to be standing on his future, as the club’s Sporting Director admit they’re not considering the sale of the player this summer.
“He’s not for sale.
“It doesn’t matter how much money’s involved, he’s not going anywhere. He’s done really well and we want to continue working together – and he does, too.”
The Bundesliga club would be making some huge profit if they sell the player this summer after he joined the club for just £2.4 million in 2016 and Soyuncu’s tied under contract with Freiburg until 2021.
Arsenal, meanwhile, remains to be seen if they can make a big money offer to RB Leipzig that would see them beating Manchester City, Liverpool and Chelsea to his signing this summer.
