Man United could agree shock deal for £50m Barcelona target

Manchester United constantly getting linked with a whole host of attacking players would make one wonder exactly what’s going on at the club. In attack, Jose Mourinho have at his disposal, the likes of Alexis Sanchez, Marcus Rasford, Anthony Martial, Jesse Lingard, and Romelu Lukaku. Even Juan Mata cannot be ruled out from the Red Devils’ attack and he can played behind the Lukaku and Lingard.

As The Express reports, Manchester United are backed to complete move for Chelsea winger Willian, who reportedly saw a £50m for his services by Barcelona turned down by the Blues earlier this past week.

Willian has been impressive for the Old Trafford year in and year out, netting 13 goals and providing 12 assist in 55 appearances in all competitions last season. Willian reached this height despite not being a regular starter under Antonio Conte.

At international level, due to array of talents in the Brazilian squad, Willian hasn’t quite managed to have same insights at the World Cup so far this summer. But base on his performances with Chelsea, it shows the Brazilian has been impressive enough to have both Barca and Man United chasing him. Although, Mourinho knows him well during their previous stint at Chelsea.

Willian is such a superb player that brings a different dynamic to any attacking unit he’s part of. But given Rashford and Martial every day development who are still young and can be rely upon for future prospects, United’s move for Willian looks a bit questionable.

Barcelona, on the other hand, can be account for same. Ernesto Valverde already have the likes Lionel Messi, Luis Suarez, Ousmane Dembele and Philippe Coutinho in his attacking third, and so it remains to be seen whether or not a move for Willian materialises for either and if they will come again with an improved bid.
