According to a report from the Daily Mirror, Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho wants to make Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Marco Verratti, who’s said to be earning a whooping €150,000 (around £130,000) weekly according to Total Sportek, his first marquee signing this summer, and the United faithfuls have been quick to react to the rumour on Twitter.
From the Sunday Mirror, the tabloid claimed that the Portuguese boss wants a new-look midfield for the upcoming next season, and the addition of the Italian alongside reported Shakhtar Donetsk’s Fred would certainly make the team reach many heights, and potentially leave the likes of Paul Pogba and Nemanja Matic sweating on their places in the starting XI.
Pricing Veratti from PSG won’t come easy seeing the midfielder is such an important player for the Ligue 1 giants, and because he is something of a complete midfielder due to his ability from both a defensive and offensive point of view from the centre of the pitch.
Fans, who have delivered their verdict on a potential move for Verrati with one describing the players as “worse than Rashford” took to social media to give their thoughts on the link, and while one simply said “I’d sacrifice Pogba”, another said “he’s twice the player Pogba will ever be.”
Here is how they reacted on Twitter …..
Other than the obvious names this guy would be my personal dream signing for #MUFC. He’s been linked today and I’m posting this purely because of that. What a player though when fit. Tenacious, can dictate a match, spot a pass, excellent range. I’d sacrifice Pogba #Verratti pic.twitter.com/BG7WrB0nYL
