Following a poor start to the 2019/20 campaign, Manchester United have been reported to have reached an agreement with Juventus to sign their 33-year-old striker Mario Mandzukic ahead of the winter transfer window.
The Red Devils were very close to landing the striker during the last summer. And now, The Reds’ manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has now become more keen to sign the player during the winter transfer window in order to close the gap in the Premier League top-four race.
Ever since the arrival of Italian manager, Maurizio Sarri, arrived at the Old Lady, Mandzukic has been lacking lots of game time with the club and United decided to bank on his game time woes.
The reports coming from Italian outlet, Tuttomercatoweb, confirms that the deal to land the Croatian to Old Trafford will not in any way involve Paul Pogba moving to the Old Lady, as he will not be included in the deal as many report claims. Emre Can and Blaise Matuidi names have also been spoken of as a potential signing for the reds.
However, the arrival of Mandzukic could revive Solskjaer’s team form. And his years of experience could bring about a hige difference in the Manchester United team.
Mandzukic will offer short term support to the United team, but he will be worth it as a striker due to the inconsistency Rashford has been pulling up this season.
