Chelsea’s long-standing interest in the transfer of Marco Asensio could be about to take a new twist.
The Spaniard has long been linked with the west London club and other top clubs in the Premier League due to being in and out of the Los Blancos team for the last couple of seasons.
Despite being regarded as one of the best and most promising youngsters in Europe, Asensio has find it hard to nail down a regular playing role in Madrid.
Asensio was not given the chance he want while under Zinedine Zidane and the even the appointment of Julen Lopetequi was the same while it remains to be seen whether his chances under new Real boss Solari will come to fruition.
Chelsea, however, are looking to take advantage of this situation at Real and offer the Spaniard a chances at the Bridge and Spanish news outlet Don Balon are claiming Real could sanction his transfer for around £70million.
Chelsea have Alvaro Morata and Olivier Giroud upfront and the duo don’t look up to the job right now, and Asensio could be the man to strengthen this Chelsea side, with Maurizio Sarri in need of more of a goal threat in an otherwise excellent squad.
However, the bad news of the Blues, as reported by another outlet in Spain Diario Gol is that the ex-Mallorca starlet would likely be offered to Chelsea as part of a deal to sign Eden Hazard.
Hazard has been in superb form this season and is not a player the Blues will want to lose to any competitor anytime soon.
However, Asensio might be the best replacement for Hazard, but his move to Chelsea would carry some risks for sure.
