Chelsea have reportedly emerged as frontrunners to sign Olympique Lyonnais midfielder Nabil Fekir and it’s believed won’t challenge the Blues for the signing of the signature.
The France World Cup winner’s move to Anfield looked to be as good as done before the World Cup begins. Many reports claimed the midfielder was already pictured in the Liverpool shirt and had conducted interviews with the club’s TV channel.
The move fell through, though. Lyon played hard-ball at the eleventh hour and Fekir stayed put. He appeared rather keen on moving to the Premier League, which ought to give Chelsea some encouragement if our interest is genuine.
As reported by the Daily Express, the tabloid report that the west London club have emerged favourites to sign the Lyon man. Although, joining Chelsea would only be determined whether Eden Hazard joins Real Madrid this summer or not.
So far this window, Chelsea have only signed Jorginho from Liverpool while Rob Green joined the club from Huddersfield Town on a free transfer move while it’s believed Sarri is still working to get more signings done for his new side before end of the window.
