According to reports from The Scottish Sun, Celtic are looking to sign defender Harold Moukoudi before the transfer window closes on August 31.
It’s believed the Ligue 2 club would expect a fee of around £5 million if they are to part ways with the defender, who has played every minute in the league this season.
With Middlesbrough also said to be interested in his services, Celtic will face strong competition in signing him this summer, but but any deal would see the player go to the Riverside on loan with the deal likely to be made permanent in January.
The Hoops boss Brendan Rodgers may struggle to lure new players to the club following his team being knocked out of the Champions League at hands of AEK Athens, although there chances Celtic could still participate in the Europa League if they can overcome Lithuanian side FK Suduva at Parkhead this week following a 1-1 draw in the first leg on Thursday evening.
The reigning SPL champions currently sit second in the table this season after a narrow 1-0 victory against Hamilton Academical on Sunday afternoon.
Rodgers will require defensive cover as Jozo Simunovic is injured and Dedryck Boyata, who scored the only goal against Hamilton, looks likely to leave Glasgow before deadline day.
